On Saturday 6th October, England and Manchester United legend Paul Scholes visited Mahdlo Youth Zone on Egerton Street.
Sponsored by Rowan Partners and BGF the morning saw a VIP breakfast take place attended by business leaders from across the region, where they had the opportunity to ask Paul questions about his career.
Following the breakfast Paul conducted two master classes where Mahdlo members and others invited youngsters learned new skills and techniques to improve their game, followed by a Q&A session and the chance to get photos and autographs.
Paul Waite, Director at Rowan Partners commented “it was great to have another opportunity to support Mahdlo’s programme and create a unique experience for our clients and their children” whilst Investment Director for BGF Neil Inskip added “the impact the centre has across the local community is immense and its events like these that inspire children and create awareness of the centre”.
Frankie Byrne, Mahdlo’s Sports Coordinator, said: “Once again, it’s been amazing to have Paul visit Mahdlo. Our members get really excited about the opportunity to develop their footballing skills with a genuine legend. There’s a real buzz in the building during these events and they all come away with increased confidence in their own ability.
Lucy Lees Deputy CEO at Mahdlo added “we are really grateful of the support of Rowan Partners and BGF sponsoring the event. As a charity we rely on sponsorship from companies of all sizes and individuals to help develop our sports, arts and outdoors offers.”
