Management Accountant

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Location: Wigan

Our PE backed client, who are a successful international market leader within a niche service sector, have revenues exceeding £200 million turnover and a customer base of over one million, are now seeking to recruit a Management Accountant to help strengthen their existing Finance team and provide essential support to the senior stakeholders within the business.

This fantastic opportunity will see the successful candidate add real value to the business and help drive growth, by having the ability to look past the numbers and provide meaningful insight to the Group.

Key responsibilities:

  • Produce monthly management accounts to established timetable, including P&L, balance sheet, key reconciliations and detailed business commentary
  • Produce monthly cost analysis, with comparisons to budget and prior year, identifying trends and action plans.
  • Monitor and manage business cash flow including approval of supplier BACS payments.
  • Produce short term trading forecasts for the business on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.

  • Input and contribute to the Capital Expenditure analysis and reporting.
  • Input and contribute to the annual budget, working closely with operational and commercial colleagues.
  • Provide support in preparing statutory accounts
  • Offer systems support to the hotels and the wider Finance Department.
  • Identify and develop improvements to existing business processes including those within finance.
  • Management, supervision and development of a small team.


  • Qualified Accountant, ACCA, CIMA or ACA
  • Self-motivated, confident when dealing with senior stakeholders
  • Strong technical/analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to forge close working relationships across a broad spectrum of individuals
  • Work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proven record of meeting deadlines, prioritising multiple tasks.
  • Ability to articulate and present information verbally and written.
  • Confidentiality.
